A four-story former stock exchange building running Insomniac's house/trance/techno series β DJ Mag ranked it #11 in the world in 2022, and the room backs that up with scale and a real touring-DJ pedigree.
Exchange LA has run its main dance floor in partnership with Insomniac since 2011, and several Insomniac-family series live here, including "Inception" (house and techno) and "Awakening" (trance and house) alongside bass-focused nights like Bassrush. Touring names who've played the room include Kaskade, Deadmau5, Diplo, Charlotte de Witte and Joseph Capriati β so the exact sound depends heavily on which series is booked that night. - DOOR
- A polished, security-conscious door rather than a look-first one: valid photo ID is checked strictly (no punched/expired IDs, no photocopies), and the smart/upscale dress code is enforced β casual sportswear is the most common reason for a turn-away. It's a big room (four floors, roughly 1,500 capacity), so on all but the very biggest sellout nights, getting in isn't the hard part β dressing correctly and carrying real ID is.

- Smart/upscale β no sandals, flip-flops, shorts, tank tops or sportswear (hats, sports jerseys). Guests who look too casual can be turned away; open-toe heels are fine for women.

- 21+ under California ABC rules. The venue explicitly rejects expired or punched IDs, DMV printouts, and photos/photocopies of ID; foreign IDs and passports are accepted if they show a photo, name and an English-language date of birth.

- Local DJ nights run roughly $10-20 at the door; a regular weekend is closer to $20-30; international headliners on the Insomniac-branded series can push $30-50+ (typically, as of 2026). Advance tickets via exchangela.com or Discotech are usually cheaper than the door and recommended, since doors on big nights can sell out.

It's inside the historic Los Angeles Stock Exchange building at 618 S Spring St, a short walk from Pershing Square Metro station (B/D Line) in Downtown LA's historic core; valet parking is available on-site.
